I listened to this radio program today on Crosstalk America.com and it goes along with some of the articles I have been posting of late on the office of Apostle and Prophet being closed. I want to make note of something they discussed in this program, nobody has a special anointing except Jesus Christ, every born again believer in Christ has an anointing from the Holy One. Just look at the following scriptures.
1 John 2:18-22 (New King James Version)
Deceptions of the Last Hour
18 Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the[a] Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. 19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us.
20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.[b] 21 I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
22 Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son.
Anyone who claims to have a special anointing and special knowledge from God is a liar and the truth is not in him, as you can see from Gods word in the scriptures I posted, all God’s children area anointed and have all knowledge available to them in His word. Only Christ has a special anointing, He is the Anointed One. Don’t be deceived by these men who claim special anointing and knowledge, my friends that is how the serpent deceived Eve in the garden. Everything you need is already available to you in God’s word. Sola Scriptura, Scripture Alone!

Bob DeWaay is the senior pastor of Twin City Fellowship in the Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota, area.
This Crosstalk looks at the aberrant New Apostolic movement, a movement that leans on Ephesians 4:11-13 to defend the idea that the office of apostle and prophet are still valid today.
Brannon explains how the tolerance of extra-biblical teachings such as this is drawing unbelievers from different religious backgrounds to the church in what some call “The Third Wave.” However, these individuals are not necessarily coming in repentance leading to salvation. This syncretism has supercharged the acceptance of Hegelian style consensus building within the church community.
From there Brannon ties the loose ends together to show how various religious movements like the New Age, New Apostolic, Emergent, Word of Faith and even the cults are primed to come together to help build a new world order.
